The history behind your Lucaffe coffee

The history of your Lucaffé Australia coffee will certainly have you dreaming of Italy!

Lucaffe’s History
Gian Luca Venturelli’s passion and appreciation for excellent coffee is what established Lucaffe. For almost 20 years now, Gian Luca continues to visit the plantations and producers, to personally tasting all the samples. It was after completing his degree in coffee Gian Luca founded The Lucaffe Coffee Roasting Company in 1996, on the serene and historic shores of Lake Garda (at Padenghe sul Garda). From here, Gian Luca’s business grew, along with his coffee philosophy.

Lucaffe’s first facility in Roncadelle (Brescia), started with simple roasting and grinding equipment, with the later addition of an innovative plant used for packaging coffee pods in paper. This would later define Lucaffe’s easy and delicious coffee.

In 2004, the company expanded further by moving its headquarters to Carpenedolo (Brescia) near Desenzano, also on Lake Garda. This was only a short distance from La Piccola, Gian Luca’s coffee machine manufacturing business. The collaboration between these businesses resulted in an exciting and lasting venture into the field of ese coffee pods.

From here, a new factory was built in 2010 to assist with the increasing demand for Lucaffe’s “made with heart” espressos.

It was also in 2010 when Lucaffe made its way down to our shores, bringing its Italian passion and dedication to the ever growing Australian coffee scene.

Although it may have started as a small business in Lake Garda, Lucaffe has grown immensely with numerous “Lu’s” popping up all over the world.
